Tampa
Tampa is a diverse
waterfront area on Florida's West cost and offers many attractions,
history, and lazy days on the water or golf course. The Tampa Bay area
includes historic
Ybor City, the thrills of Busch Gardens, and the culture of St. Petersburg.
There are plenty of exciting attractions and cultural activities to
explore.
Tampa
Bay Performing Arts Center is the largest performing arts complex
south of Washington, D. C. It's four theaters are used for opera, dance,
music, and Broadway theater.
Tampa
Museum of Art features a collection of Greek and Roman classical
pieces as well as contemproary art and
sculpture.
Another museum, the Salvador
Dali Museum, contains the largest collection of Salvador Dali's
works.
Other museums that can't
be missed are the Florida International
Museum, St. Petersburg Museum
of History, and the Museum of Science
& Industry.
Ybor City was known as
the "Cigar Capital of the World." The Ybor City State Museum
showcases the early life of the city. Today Ybor City is an entertainment,
dining, and shopping district where you can still find people hand-rolling
cigars.
More
than 3,000 animals live in the African-themed park Busch
Gardens. The park is also home to five terrifying roller coasters.
Other areas of interest
are the Lowry Park Zoo where
over 1,500 animals roam in an 'open' environment, The
Florida Aquarium, and Dinosaur
World.
